Mustafa UMSU and the first workshop
Mustafa UMSU began in an 18 m² workshop in Konak, İzmir. In 1951, he was the first in Türkiye to commercialise a natural-stone Turkish coffee grinder. That workshop laid the foundations for GARANTİ and a grinding equipment range that became widely known in the Turkish coffee sector.
From grinding to roasting
Company owner and second-generation representative Süleyman UMSU expanded the business into a larger workshop in Bornova. There, he developed shop-type and industrial roasting machines, extending GARANTİ’s expertise from coffee grinding to roasting.
A permanent manufacturing home
In 1999, Süleyman UMSU established our current factory in the area that later became the Kemalpaşa Organized Industrial Zone. This facility remains GARANTİ Roasters’ manufacturing home.
The third generation carries the work forward
Engineers Sinem UMSU and Can UMSU continue the family’s work, bringing quality control, coffee education, business development and operations into the company’s next chapter.

FOCHA brings GARANTİ’s roasting heritage into a contemporary shop roaster, combining a distinctive visual identity with a focus on the relationship between the machine, its user and the space around it.
The FOCHA form building visual collection received an iF DESIGN AWARD 2024 in Communication / Product and Service Branding.
